Welcome to Wisconsin Association of FFA

Established in 1929, the Wisconsin Association of FFA is an association of the National FFA Organization whose mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Wisconsin has 255 FFA chapters statewide and over 19,000 members.

The FFA operates on local, state and national levels. Student members belong to chapters organized at the local school district. In order for a school district to charter and maintain an FFA chapter, there must be a certified licensed agricultural educator hired by the school district who then also serves as the chapter advisor.

FFA members are part of a total program in agricultural education, consisting of classroom instruction in agriculture, supervised agricultural experiences where students gain career skills and on the job training and leadership development through the FFA organization.

Wisconsin FFA Foundation SAE Grant Applications
The 2014 SAE Grant applications are available now on the Wisconsin FFA website - http://www.wisconsinffa.org/programs/. Please encourage students to apply. The applications must be postmarked by November 17 to the Wisconsin FFA Foundation.
*******************************************

National FFA SAE Grant Update
Applications may be submitted by members in grades 7-11 and are intended to give younger members a ?leg-up? in getting their SAE off the ground or to improve an existing SAE. Grants are based primarily on financial need.

Please encourage your members to take advantage of this great funding source by applying for a grant. Also, for your member?s best chance at receiving a grant, they should use the scoring rubric which will also be on the website. This is a very simple application so even new members should have no problem in completing it.

Proper Official Dress Required for 212 and 360 Conferences
Just a reminder that your members need to be dressed in Official Dress for the 212 and 360 Conferences. Let's continue Wisconsin's tradition of having our members look GREAT in Official Dress. Please review with your members the following guidelines for Official Dress. Again we want Wisconsin members to continue to uphold the tradition of wearing FFA Official Dress CORRECTLY and APPROPRIATELY.

Female Official Dress - Black skirt, white-collared blouse with Official FFA blue scarf, black dress shoes with closed heel and toe, black nylon hosiery and an Official FFA jacket zipped to the top. The skirt is to be at least knee length, hemmed evenly across the bottom, with a slit no longer than two inches above the knee, excluding the kick pleat. Black slacks may be appropriate for traveling and outdoor activities.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LENGTH OF THE SKIRT IS IMPORTANT - SHORT MINI SKIRTS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE BLACK SKIRTS FOR GIRLS. This is becoming more of a concern. If the student does not have a proper skirt then black pants are more acceptable please.

Male Official Dress - Black slacks, a white-collared shirt with Official FFA tie, black dress shoes, black socks and an Official FFA jacket zipped to the top.

Also remind your members that when they are wearing their official dress that jackets need to be zipped up, ties tied and shirts tucked in. If you can help us remind students of this, they will even look sharper in official dress and representing FFA. Thank you!!
