Team Trip and Speaking Contests!
Jan. 15, 2012
Wow! All I can say is Wisconsin weather is a little bit different compared the weather in the Bahamas. Right after Halftime the state officers headed down to Florida to get on a cruise to the Bahamas for a little rest and relaxation. It was a ton of fun but it is always great to be back home!
Being home in January also means that District Speaking Contests are beginning! Speaking contests have always been one of my favorite FFA events and I can’t wait for them to get started this year!
The dates for the Section Six contests are:
District 16: January 16 at Laconia
District 17: February 7 at Pardeeville
District 18: January 24 at Mauston
I hope to see an awesome turnout of members competing and I wish you all the best of luck!

Halftime Conference!
Jan. 07, 2012
What an amazing weekend! Halftime went great. It was held at the Holiday in Stevens Point on Friday and Saturday and over 360 members were in attendance. We started with opening ceremonies and a fun skit put on by the state officers. Then we started into our workshops. Friday night’s workshops were all focused on personal growth, to help each individual. After the first four workshops there was a fun filled dance and reflections before heading to bed. Saturday’s workshops were then focused on growing our chapters. Everyone spent time gathering ideas to take back to make their chapters better. We saw a keynote from two past officers and heard a challenge from our president Ethan Giebel to wrap up the weekend. All in all, it was a fun time to meet fellow FFA members and gain some new ideas for the second half of an awesome year!

Halftime and Holidays!!!
Dec. 27, 2011
Hi everyone!
December has been pretty busy. We spent three days in Mauston planning and making props for the Halftime Conference. Destination: Unknown is not going to a Halftime that you want to miss. We all took a lot of time making some awesome props, workshops and you won’t want to miss our opening skit and reflections. You will also get to rock a tacky tourist outfit at the dance. Now that we are home we have all been working hard to prepare for the rest of Halftime and spending some time with our families.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and had time to spend with their families. I know that I really enjoyed my holiday time. My family may be a little crazy but I always love getting together to do a little baking and a whole lot of eating!
2011 has been great but I am pretty excited for what 2012 has to offer. I am excepting an amazing year full of some amazing events with FFA members all over the state. I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year!

Hello December!
Dec. 02, 2011
I cannot believe that all of my chapter visits are done! It feels like I have just started, time has really flown. Thank you to all of the chapters of Section Six! My chapter visits were amazing because everyone was exceptionally nice and welcoming. Thank you for allowing me to come into your schools and take over your classes and thank you for sharing your FFA with me. I have learned so many great life lessons through presenting and talking with the great FFA members of our section. Thank you again!
Tomorrow I will head up to the Wisconsin Dells with the whole team to attend the Farm Bureau Annual Meeting and from there we will go up to Marshfield for our December Meeting. At the meeting we will be planning and preparing for the Halftime conference and the rest of the year. I am very excited to see the team and plan an awesome second half of the year.
Keep your eyes peeled for more information coming for Halftime because it is going to be AMAZING!
Happy December!

Giving Thanks
Nov. 25, 2011
I am thankful for many things but most of all is my wonderful family who I spent Thanksgiving with. It was a day packed full of fun, food, and lots and lots of family. Being with my family is always fun and exciting but I also feel extremely blessed to have people around me who love and care for me. Thinking of this yesterday reminded me of the chapter visits I have done so far this year. They have all been amazing but my favorite part of each one was seeing how much each chapter acts as a family. The advisors in each and every chapter have open arms to any student wanting to become involved and each member has their own place just like in a family. Everyone has different personalities and interests but everyone can come together for one thing and that is what keeps FFA activities exciting.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a great November. I had a great time at all of my visits in the past couple weeks. Everyone is super inviting and that makes my visits ten times better than I thought they ever could be. I cannot believe that I only have three visits left this next week. Waupun, Weston and Markesan will be my last visits and I am sad to see that they are all done. I had a great time with every chapter and I am sure it will be the same with these last three visits.

Week of Fun
Nov. 13, 2011
I started my week with a visit to the Westfield FFA chapter and it was a really great time. All of the classes were super fun to do activities with and I really enjoyed talking with the officers and learning about all the wonderful things their chapter does.
The next exciting event I had was the Parliamentary Procedure Workshop in Mauston put on by the UW River Falls Ag. Ed. Society. It was held after school on Wednesday with many different chapters in attendance. It was really fun but it was also super duper informative and I think everyone there learned a lot. The River Falls students did a wonderful job and it was a great night!
On Friday I headed to Ripon for a visit. I got the chance to attend the Veterans Day Presentation and it was wonderful. It was the perfect way to begin my day thinking of those who have served my country. Then I had a great time presenting to some classes and meeting some of the officers.
After that, I left for Stevens Point and the 212/360 conferences. I arrived just in time for registration and was amazed at how many students were in attendance! That night after two sessions we had a celebration for our Central Region National Vice President Alicia Hodnick. We watched the video of her being elected and then got some cake and pizza at the dance! It was a great night and the day to follow was even better. I participated in the 212 conference and it was awesome. I learned a lot and met some great members.
When the conference concluded, Ethan and I made our way to the small town of Harrisville, located between Montello and Westfield. There we attended the Montello/Westfield FFA Alumni Wildlife Banquet and it made for an awesome night! The FFA members there ran all of the games and raffles and did a wonderful job. Everything was run amazingly and lots of money was made for the two FFA chapters. It was a great night and I congratulate both chapters for a job well done!
This week I have visits in Rio, Mauston, RCF, Wisconsin Dells, and Pardeeville. It is going to be a fun week and I can’t wait for the rest of my visits!

November Visits
Nov. 06, 2011
Well, what a wonderful way to start off November! I had five wonderful chapter visits this week and I can’t wait for the rest of the visits to come.
I began my week in Lodi for Monday and Tuesday. I was with the high school classes on Monday and then switched to Middle school for Tuesday. It was really fun and I am very impressed with the projects that they are working on. One that really sticks out in my mind is the Community Closet they have started in their school. It is a place where people can donate clothes and get clothes if they are in need. The Lodi FFA Chapter took a useless storage room and turned it into an amazing project. Keep up the good work!
On Wednesday I headed to the New Lisbon Chapter and had another amazing day! I knew it was going to be a great day right from the beginning because everyone was very excited. I had a ton of fun during class time because everyone was really enthusiastic and we really got into some of the activities. Everyone I met was super friendly and New Lisbon is lucky to have such great students and a wonderful Ag. Teacher.
Then came Thursday with another super duper visit with the Adams-Friendship FFA. I know I have said it a lot but I had an awesome day. Again, I got to meet some amazing members and even some colored chicks! I see great things coming from that chapter!
Last but not least, was my visit with the Oakfield Chapter. I really enjoyed my day there and it was really fun. All of the classes were dynamically different and if made my day really exciting, I never knew what would come next. I got to eat frozen pizza’s that the chapter makes as a fundraiser and they were super yummy. I had a really great talk with the officers and I couldn’t have asked for a better day!
Thank you to all the chapters!
This week Monday I am off to Westfield, Thursday I will be in Mauston for a Parliamentary Procedure Workshop and Friday I will be at Ripon and then even have the chance to go to the 212/360 conference in Stevens Point! Hope to see you there!

Amazing FFA
Oct. 31, 2011
National Convention is over and it is time to dive into the month of November, full of chapter visits galore! This last week I had only one visit but it was a wonderful one with the Reedsburg Middle School students. This week is when I really dive in with five chapter visits that all sound like they are going to be amazing. Today I started the week with the Lodi High School visit. It went amazingly and I think it is a sign about how great the rest of my week will be. The rest of the week I will head to Lodi Middle School, New Lisbon, Adams-Friendship, and Oakfield and I am excited for each and every one.
As I visit more schools, the more amazed I become. All across Wisconsin there are many school organizations that have wonderful members but I do not think can come even close to FFA members. I have met so many members who just blow me away with the things they do. They have a deep passion for FFA, their SAE’s, and life in general. I have respect for anyone with that much passion and I can also tell that our theme this year makes a lot of sense. The FFA members in our state truly know how to Unlock the Legacy that applies to each and every one of them. We all may be unlocking a different legacy but that is what makes it so amazing. We all have a different passion but we all come together through FFA! Keep up the awesome work FFA members, YOU are what keeps the FFA alive!

Convention 2011: The End
Oct. 25, 2011
Wow! Amazing! Outstanding!
These are the words that I use to describe my experience at the 84th National FFA Convention. It was amazing for me personally but also for the whole state of Wisconsin. I have many congratulations for FFA members across the state.
We have five National Proficiency Winners and one of them is from right here in section six! Tyler Meister from the Reedsburg FFA is the 2011 National Forest Management and Products proficiency winner.
Wisconsin also had 150 members receive their American Degree with one Wisconsin member standing out at a star. Keith Bollinger, of the Cochrane-Fountain City FFA, was honored as the Star in Agriscience!
Wisconsin also had many members awarded with golds in career development events and in the agriscience fair!
Last but not least, it was announced that the 2011-2012 Central Region National Vice President was Alicia Hodnik! Originally from the Big Foot FFA chapter, Alicia will serve national FFA this year and we are very proud that she is representing Wisconsin.
Congratulations to all who competed!! It was a wonderful convention and I hope everyone else’s was as great as mine.

Covention 2011: The Beginning
Oct. 19, 2011
What an amazing experience this has been so far! This 84th National FFA Convention is off to a great start and shows no signs of slowing down. This year I have the opportunity to not only attend the convention but also serve as a delegate for the our great state of Wisconsin. I have had the chance to meet many amazing individuals from all around the nation and have a part in recommending changes that will have an impact in the FFA for years to come! The career show is even bigger and the companies there are even more enthusiastic! It is pretty much a super duper fun time all around!
I cannot wait for the rest of this awesome convention and I hope to see many Wisconsin FFA members shine in the national spotlight! Have a great convention everyone!

Amazing Wisconsin
Oct. 16, 2011
The past two weeks have really been amazing! All of my chapter visits have gone wonderfully well and I have really enjoyed them. I have met so many amazing people, who have shown me how diverse our great state is. I have learned so much and I thank all of the chapters I have visited so far, you have made my time very enjoyable. I am also super duper excited for the rest of my chapter visits yet to come!
Speaking of being super duper excited...I am also super duper duper excited for the National FFA Convention!!!! It will be an amazing four day event held in Indianapolis, Indiana for FFA members from all over the United States. Over 55,000 students will take over the city’s downtown in a sea of blue corduroy! It will be such an amazing opportunity to meet people from all over the nation and show the rest of the country how great the state of Wisconsin really is!
I hope to see all the amazing Wisconsin FFA members shining bright on the stage and all around the convention! Please come talk to me and my teammates, if you see us, because we love to meet anyone we can! See you in Indiana!!

An Ending and A Begining!
Oct. 03, 2011
Wow has time really been flying! The start of October has marked the end of SLW’s and the beginning of chapter visits. We finished up strong with our SLW’s in Mineral Point, Wisconsin Heights and Blair-Taylor. They all went really well and it was sad to be done at the end of the week. It was really an amazing experience to be able to meet so many people in such a short amount of time. I truly enjoyed being able to meet and stay with some great people and the past three weeks have made me even more excited for the rest of the year!
After our SLW in Blair-Taylor I headed up to the University of Wisconsin River Falls. Once there I spent some time preparing things for the FIRE conference that was held there on October 2nd. It was good that I got that time because we had record breaking attendance with almost 400 people!! It was really cool that we had such a great turn out and the day was a lot of fun. The weather was beautiful and there was no lack of enthusiasm.
Now that I am back home I get to begin all of my chapter visits and I am very excited. Today I had the pleasure of spending the day with the Baraboo FFA chapter. I got the chance to present to classes, meet the principal and eat lunch with some of the officers. I was a ton of fun and I am looking forward to seeing everyone later on in the year.
Tomorrow I head down to Madison to spend the day at the World Dairy Expo. I hope to see many FFA chapters represented there and come talk to me and the other state officers if you see us! Later this week I head to Portage on Thursday and Poynette on Friday. I hope everyone is having a great fall and a wonderful start to their FFA year.

Week Two SLW and Appleton FIRE!
Sep. 25, 2011
Week two SLW’s were amazing and FIRE was the same! We started the second week of SLW’s in East Troy, then headed to my hometown of Sauk Prairie. After that we headed up to Winneconne and then Kiel. All four of the workshops went amazingly and I loved getting the chance to meet so many FFA members from all over the state.
Another awesome part of the past week was spending it with our National FFA Secretary Landan Schaffert. Landan is a very special and inspiring individual who taught us to be thankful for the things we have. What makes Landan special is his determination to make something of his life after he was told that he would never amount to anything. You see, Landan is leagally blind and can only see bits of things when there is a bright enough light. When he was young his mother was told, by a doctor that he would never amount to anything because of his condition but Landan has done everything to prove that doctor wrong. He has taken what he was given and worked around it to reach the amazing height of being a National FFA officer! We all learned a lot from him and it was really fun to spend time with him.
On Saturday we had our first FIRE conference and it was great! It was held at Fox Valley Technical School in Appleton and there were over 100 attendees! It was a ton of fun and I can not wait for our FIRE’s in RIver Falls and Madison!
This week we start in Mineral Point then go to Wisconsin Heights and then Blair-Taylor for our last three SLW’s. After that this weekend we head to UW River Falls for our second FIRE. I hope to meet many more members in this week of fun!
